The Kion team is headed to Chicago for our second EDUCAUSE Annual Conference. We'll be in booth 1140 on the expo floor and joining University of Oregon for a joint session.

Our session with University of Oregon: Building Trust and Value: Our Mission-Driven Cloud Journey

When: Wednesday, October 11, 1:30 PM–2:00 PM CT

Where: W184A, Level 1

Join us for an insightful session on the University of Oregon's mission-driven approach to cloud adoption. Discover the strategic drivers that led us to focus our cloud strategy in support of research and education. You’ll learn about our challenges and successes in partnering with faculty to meet curricular needs in the cloud for data science. We’ll share how we built trust, exceeded expected value, and improved our ability to support future curricular needs across a multi-cloud environment. Christy Long, associate CIO for Technology Infrastructure at the University of Oregon, and Randy Shore, VP of Delivery and Support at Kion, will shed light on the foundational capabilities prioritized for the university's multi-cloud journey. You'll learn how we've achieved frictionless access, increased visibility, and enhanced financial management, empowering us to maximize the potential of the cloud. We’ll include time for an interactive discussion to gain insights and experiences of participants.

Newcomer Tips - and Some Food Options

If this is your first time attending EDUCAUSE, we've outlined a few tips to help make your journey to Chicago a breeze. The EDUCAUSE Annual Conference will take place at McCormick Place West. EDUCAUSE has provided a list of hotels and room rates that you can reference as you book your travel. The exhibit hall will be open Tuesday, October 10 from 10:15 a.m. - 4:45 p.m. and Wednesday, October 11 from 10:15 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. and will be located in Hall F, Level 3. There will also be a networking reception on Tuesday, October 10 from 3:00 p.m. - 4:45 p.m. The registration desk will be located at W183A, Level 1, and will be open starting at 7 a.m. Monday, October 9 through Wednesday, October 11.

EDCAUSE is not providing lunch this year, but registrants can enjoy snacks and refreshments during lunch hours, 12:00 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. If you're looking for a lunch spot, you can find some specialty food and beverages provided by exhibitors along with restaurants inside McCormick Place: The Market at McCormick, The Plate Room, Connie's Pizza, and The Tap. If you want a break outside the convention center, here are some nearby lunch spots: Starbucks, McDonalds, and Steve’s Bite.
