One of the biggest pain points when operating a multi-cloud environment is accessing accounts across multiple projects and cloud service providers (CSPs). Kion's organizational chart allows you to map your cloud organization to how your business organization is arranged. Unifying these accounts into a single platform makes it easy for users to locate and have native access to their AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud accounts in their respective projects and organization units (OUs).

Finding an Account via Search

  1. Select the search bar at the top.
  2. Input the desired account name or account number.
  3. Select the account from the search results.

Finding an Account via Project

If you know the project that contains your desired account, you can locate it by:

  1. Navigate to the "All Projects" page.
  2. In the search bar, enter the name of the containing project.
  3. Select the "Cloud Access" button on the top of the tile of the related project.
  4. Select the desired account.

Finding an Account via OU

If you know the OU that contains your desired account, you can locate it by:

  1. Navigate to the "All OUs" page.
  2. In the search bar, enter the name of the containing OU.
  3. Select the containing OU.
  4. Select "View OU in Org Chart".
  5. Select the project containing the desired account.
  6. Select the "Cloud Access" button on the top of the tile of the related OU.
  7. Select the "Cloud Access" button on the top of the tile of the related project.
  8. Select the desired account.

Accessing an Account

Once you have found the desired account, native access is granted via the cloud access button on the account page.

  1. Navigate to the account page of the desired account.
  2. Select the "Cloud Access" button.
  3. Select an access type:
    1. For console access, select "Web Access".
    2. For programmatic access such as CLI, select "Short-term Access Keys".

Favoriting an Account, Project, and OU

For quick access, it is recommended that you add accounts that you frequently access to favorites. To add an account to favorites:

  1. Navigate to the desired project or OU.
  2. Select the star in the upper right corner of the project or OU page.

The favorited project or OU is now added to favorites and can be viewed under the "Favorites" tile on your dashboard.

Identity and Access Management in Kion

Kion makes native access to needed cloud accounts across various projects and CSPs a breeze. Kion also makes Identity and Access Management (IAM) simple. By leveraging Cloud Access Roles, the same unification and simplicity for end users that Kion delivers for accessing accounts can be experienced by architects and security personnel looking to govern their multi-cloud environment. Kion creates a single place for IAM in AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. This means you only need to perform the work in one place instead of three.
