Meet Graeme, part of our Delivery and Support team, who shares a favorite part of AWS' recent virtual re:Invent, what he enjoys about working with customers, and the story behind Junkanoo.

1. Tell us about your role at

We love when customers are able to use to solve complex problems and make their lives easier in the cloud. As a member of the Delivery and Support team, I act as a guide and a resource to our customers wherever they are in their cloud adoption journey. We're the initial technical point of contact, and assist with installing and integrating it with their environment, as well as answering any questions and discussing solutions to best leverage the cloud governance components available within

2. What's a typical day look like in the life of a Solutions Delivery Manager?

My days tend to be pretty customer focused, directly engaging with new customers onboarding in their environment, or working with our existing customers to further integrate within their environment and business practices.

When I'm not directly engaged with customers, I'm connecting with others on my team to discuss the feedback we receive, and ensure that continues to move in a direction that streamlines cloud adoption and simplifies cloud governance for our customers.

3. What keeps you focused during work hours? Any tips you care to share?

Music for sure. Back in the days when we could work in the office together, I had a habit of throwing on noise-cancelling headphones when I wanted to dig in on a task and shut out the noise. No such issues with noise these days, but I find the music still helps put me in that focused state of mind.

4. With everything transitioning to virtual this year, any virtual conferences you've attended this year worth noting?

It’s always exciting to see the advancements AWS continues to make and the new services they announce at AWS re:Invent. It was encouraging to see a spotlight on sustainability during their recent Infrastructure Keynote, and I hope to see them continue to make technological advancements that set a standard for sustainability in the cloud.

5. As we look back on 2020, what has been your favorite contribution to

Working with customers to get them on the right track is a satisfying feeling for me. Organizations that are moving to the cloud quickly find that it comes with unique challenges.

My favorite memories with customers are after they get set up and configured, and start applying targeted controls to specific accounts within their organization for the first time. I love being able to demonstrate to them how they can use as a cloud governance solution that solves complex problems and enables them to focus on the tasks most important to their business.

6. Favorite part about working at

Though it might not replace being together in the office, I appreciate the assortment of random Slack channels we use to discuss things outside of work. If there's one thing this year has taught me, it's that connection with one another - and our ability to build trust with one another - is an essential part of each of our lives.

7. Enough about work: any holiday traditions you want to share?

Junkanoo! In the Bahamas where I grew up, every year on the day after Christmas, we have an annual street parade called "Junkanoo", with music, costumes, and competition to see which Junkanoo group brings the most impressive performance that year. Fierce competition and pride means that every year Junkanoo is a major event for Bahamians each holiday season.

8. Looking forward to 2021, do you set New Year's resolutions?

I've never been one to set New Year's resolutions, though I think like many others, this year's challenges have definitely left me looking more to 2021 for a "reset".

Regardless of when things start moving back towards normalcy, I want to be more intentional about connecting with those who we have had to distance from during this time, whether they're family, friends, or coworkers. I hope to take away from this difficult year valuable lessons about the relationships in our lives, and the ways we connect with each other virtually and, eventually, in person.
