Meet Jae, one of our Account Executives, who discusses what he loves most about Kion, from our benefits to our company culture!

Tell us about your role at Kion.

I'm an Account Executive on the Sales team, where I'm responsible for and lead all sales efforts in my assigned territory. I serve as a liaison between the company and our prospects and customers. I also collaborate with my colleagues in Marketing and Sales Development to generate new leads.

How did you find Kion?

I found the opportunity through LinkedIn's job search. I submitted an application online and the rest is history!

How do you prefer to start your day?

Check my calendar, review emails, read headlines from the WSJ, and ... complete a Wordle puzzle.

What's one thing you're learning right now, and why is it important?

The sales team is currently completing new negotiation training, which is critical for building better relationships, and long-term, mutually beneficial solutions with folks I interact with.

What has your experience been with our company culture?

Kion is fully remote, so I'm really impressed by how many opportunities there are to get to know and build relationships with team members across the company. Our People Operations team does an incredible job at bringing people together. They organize monthly virtual activities, an annual wellness challenge, and our in-person all-hands - just to name a few. We also have randomly scheduled Donut meetings, lunch and learns, fantasy sports leagues, and a vibrant Slack community with pets, kids, chess, games, and more channels.

Which benefits are your favorite and why?

Kion benefits are very competitive, and I have too many favorites to pick just one. I really like Kion's stellar health insurance benefits, and that the company contributes to my 401k with no match required from me. These benefits help me be my best at work and outside of work.

What's the most unique part about working here?

Kion is a remote-first company - we have employees all over the United States. That said, we have flexible working arrangements, so employees can choose to work at our company headquarters in Maryland on a full-time, part-time, or one-off basis.

What keeps you busy outside of work hours?

I enjoy Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, photography, hiking, and chess.

What TV/podcast are you hooked on currently?

My favorite podcasts include The Joe Rogan Experience, Jocko Podcast, Throughline, and Radiolab.

What's your most recently played song?

Ice Cream by Raekwon
