Kion gives your cloud operations teams more control over spend, compliance, and identity. With v3.13, we have built out new features that provide better chargeback capabilities, a revamped dashboard experience, more powerful enforcements, and additional user driven enhancements that make Kion easier to use and delivers faster time to value.
What’s New?
Billing Rules
Organizations that work with cloud resellers or have complex internal chargeback models can now apply custom billing adjustments in Kion via Billing Rules. This ensures financial data aligns with how you actually operate, providing more flexibility with chargeback needs, custom pricing, or currency conversion.
New Dashboard Experience
Dashboards just got a major upgrade! You can now add your saved spend reports directly to dashboards, add quick links, and enjoy new options to resize and customize layouts, creating a personalized view that highlights what matters most.
Cloud Access Improvements
We’ve improved the experience when using quick cloud access and federation, making it faster, more intuitive, and easier for users to manage and connect to their cloud environments through Kion.
Enforcement Upgrades
Daily enforcements are now available for monitoring your projects and OUs. With multiple options focused on spend within the current day, users can now detect unusual activity faster and put in proactive measures same day. Additionally, enforcement email messages can now be customized, allowing you to tailor messages, next steps, and link important information to users receiving a notification.
Default Compliance Severities
We’ve improved our out-of-the-box compliance experience with better severity defaults, so teams get meaningful alerts without the noise right from the start.
GCP Reseller Support
Organizations using Google Cloud through or as a reseller can now use their parent reseller account as a Kion billing source, giving more flexibility in how GCP spend is tracked and managed.
Resource Access Export
You can now easily export data on user and role access to cloud resources, making access reviews, audits, and security analysis more straightforward than ever.
Improved Onboarding Experience
New customers will benefit from streamlined system settings and simplified permissions and roles, getting them up and running faster with less friction.
