FULTON, Md.—(BUSINESS WIRE)— Kion, a leading cloud enablement solution provider, today announced that the company has achieved the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Security Competency. This designation recognizes that Kion has demonstrated proven technology that helps customers achieve their cloud security goals.

Achieving the AWS Security Competency differentiates Kion as an AWS Partner Network (APN) member that provides specialized software designed to help enterprises adopt, develop, and deploy complex security projects on AWS. To receive the designation, APN Partners must possess deep AWS expertise and deliver solutions seamlessly on AWS.

This competency aligns with one of Kion’s core pillars for cloud enablement—Continuous Compliance—validating Kion’s technical expertise and proven customer success in ensuring compliance across an organization’s entire cloud footprint. As part of the APN, Kion has also attained the AWS Cloud Management Tools (CMT) Competency and AWS Government Competency, and is a member of the AWS Public Sector Partner Program and Authority to Operate (ATO) on AWS Partner Program.

Security is key to every cloud customer, regardless of industry or footprint. Achieving AWS Security Competency status continues to build on a track record of work with AWS which includes 12 AWS validated qualifications, underscoring Kion’s commitment to supporting AWS customers across all stages of cloud adoption. The AWS Security Competency reaffirms Kion’s ability to provide specialized cloud enablement services that empower users to gain control and accelerate compliance within the cloud.

“Kion is thrilled to achieve AWS Security Competency status and further drive our work with AWS. By receiving these designations from AWS, we are solidifying ourselves as a trusted provider to organizations looking to accelerate security and compliance in an effective manner,” said Brian Price, CEO and Co-Founder at Kion. “We have a rich legacy supporting customers running on AWS and are backed by various competencies, validations, and certifications. This adds another layer to our relationship with AWS. Kion will continue to provide advanced cloud enablement and security-focused capabilities to AWS customers to deliver great visibility and control over their cloud environments.”

AWS is enabling scalable, flexible, and cost-effective solutions from startups to global enterprises. To support the seamless integration and deployment of these solutions, AWS established the AWS Competency Program to help customers identify Consulting and Technology APN members with deep industry experience and expertise.

Kion provides proactive boundaries and reactive detection and reporting to not only ensure compliance, but enforce it through auto-remediation. Kion’s automation functionality is a key component for security as it assesses real-time compliance posture and automatically remediates any misconfigurations to enforce adherence to compliance standards. The Kion platform provides over 6,000 built-in compliance checks to make it easy to adhere to best practices like CIS, NIST 800-53, PCI-DSS, GDPR, HIPAA, and FedRAMP. AWS customers will be able to use Kion to automatically apply and enforce compliance policies within AWS accounts used across the organization as well as easing the process of updating policies when regulatory guidelines, changes, or new AWS services are approved. Kion’s continuous compliance engine also simplifies the process of building security policies.

This announcement comes on the heels of Kion’s acceptance into the ATO on AWS Partner Program. Kion announced its collaboration with Communications Training Analysis Corporation (CTAC) to advance a US government agency’s ATO on AWS project. Using the Kion platform, CTAC was able to identify numerous compliance findings in the client’s cloud environment, successfully remediating over 77% of these in under a month.

Kion will be sponsoring AWS’s flagship security event, AWS re:Inforce in Boston from July 26-27, 2022. Visit Kion at Booth #306 at re:Inforce to connect with the Kion team and see how Kion’s cloud enablement platform helps empower AWS customers.
